Today’s rows are about how can we contribute to improve the natural surroundings in a simple and efficient way
I’ve come across this suggestion on Facebook, by coincidence, and found it interesting and easy to put in practice. It all started with an initiative promoted by the Thai government which has proven to be very successful.
Summer is the fruit season. The proposal is to save the stones from fruits (peaches, apricots, plums, cherries etc) and dry them in the sun instead of throwing them in the rubbish bin. Later they can be wrapped in paper and stored inside your car. Next time you go out for a ride, outside the city, you can throw them out in open land or wherever you may find the right conditions. With a little bit of luck, they will germinate in the coming autumn rains.
Picture the impact if we all acted and each one of us would contribute at least with one tree per season.
This is also a fun activity to do with your kids and a proper way to teach them about the responsibility we have to our planet.
I have already gathered mine (the stones) and I am looking forward for our next trip to spread them.
